NRI’s may continue to invest in PPF with same interest rate as resident Indians.

A bad news for Non Resident Indian’s (NRI’s) is on the charts. NRI’s may continue to invest in Public Provident Fund but they would have to accept the same interest rate as that of to resident Indian citizens. The role of NRI’s in restructuring the Indian economy is worthwhile. NRI’s remitt the money earned by them abroad in that respective country’s currency. Today India’s foreign exchange reserves are at all time high because of NRI contribution as well along with its exports. NRI remittance may not be because of patriotism, but its even not mandatory to an NRI to remitt. So I think their contribution should be highly appreciated. They (NRI’s) deserve much more benefits in every aspect from India’s side. After all they (NRI’s) too are called INDIANS.
